Problem
The Allouk water station supplies Al-Hasakah city and its countryside with drinking water; it has run at low capacity for years because of pump failures and power cuts, so thousands of families rely on water tankers.
Current state
The station runs at 35% of its design capacity, supply averages 40 litres a person a day, and families spend up to 15% of their income on tanker water.
Objective
Rehabilitate the station, its pumps and the transmission line, with back-up solar power, to raise supply to 100 litres a person a day.
Expected scope
Replacing the pumps and control panels, rehabilitating the wells and the transmission line, a 4 MW solar system, and two years of operation and maintenance with the Al-Hasakah drinking-water establishment.
